Arden wished to engage a specialist HE sector company to provide Testing as a Service (TaaS) support on the implementation. Prolifics deployed an offshore team, led by a Test Manager to carry out functional and integration testing on the initial 2 phases of the project.
Our team used their knowledge of the HE sector as well as SITS, to provide rapid benefit and insight into the quality of the software and supporting integrations. The Test Manager was supported by 4 Test Analysts, over an initial 3-month period. A further scope of work was also issued, for our team to create 700+ student Records to be used as test data for the subsequent UAT phase of testing, using our SITS test automation framework.
Size
The team consisted of a test manager, with a team of 4 functional test analysts, supported by 2 automation test analysts, all offshore.
Scope
Modules in scope of functional testing included; Academic Model, Data Management / Reporting, Admissions and Finance. Our team also tested the vital SITS integrations between Salesforce and Arden’s recruitment system. Within scope of the data generation activity were Online Application Form (OLAF), Agent / Applicant Portal and Online Enrolment.
Tools Used
The team used Jira with XRay to design and record their functional tests. Automation tests were developed using our Selenium pre-built framework for the web interface, with Opentext UFT One for the SITS client.
Results
Functional and integration testing was quickly able to iron out functional issues prior to UAT, which used the data generated by our automated tests. The automated test pack delivered continues as a re-usable asset, being deployed by Arden as an automated regression pack.
